PM Narendra Modi on 2-day Visit to South India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Kerala for two days on January 2, the PM said on Monday. During his visit to the southern states and union territory, Modi will attend programs and inaugurate various developmental projects.

“Over the next two days, I will be attending various programs in Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and Kerala…I look forward to being among the people of Lakshadweep. Development works worth Rs. 1150 crore would either be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works include projects relating to better internet connectivity, ensuring clean drinking water supply, solar energy, healthcare, and more,” PM Modi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

  • Prime Minister Modi visits South India for 2 days to launch projects:
  • Modi will be in Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Kerala from January 2nd to celebrate achievements and kickstart new ones.

Tamil Nadu:

  • He’ll attend a university event and award students in Tiruchirappalli.
  • He’ll open a new airport terminal and several railway and road projects.
  • He’ll dedicate a port facility and lay the foundation for a nuclear plant.
  • He’ll open a new hostel for engineering students.

Lakshadweep:

  • He’ll launch projects worth over ₹1,150 crore to improve internet, water, solar power, and healthcare.
  • He’ll open a faster internet connection between Lakshadweep and Kerala.
  • He’ll open a plant that makes clean drinking water and ensure everyone on 2 islands has easy access to water at home.
  • He’ll open a solar power plant with batteries to store energy for nighttime.
  • He’ll start work on improving a health center and building 5 new childcare centers.

Kerala:

  • Modi will wrap up his trip in Kerala on January 3rd.
