Hyderabad, Dec 25 (Maxim News): Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, will be the Chief Guest at the Sixth Convocation of Maulana Azad National Urdu University today at 12-00 noon where about 48,000 students will be awarded degrees.
Mr. E. S. L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, will be the Guest of Honour at the event that would be presided over by Mr. Zafar Younus Sareshwala, MANUU Chancellor. Mr. Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana State, will be the other Guest of Honour.
Internationally known film personality Mr Shah Rukh Khan and Urdu aficionado and founder of Rekhta Foundation Rajiv Saraf would be given Honorius Causa for their extraordinary contribution in the promotion of Urdu language and culture.
About 2,885 graduates and post graduates and 276 M. Phil and Ph.D from various disciplines in regular courses will be awarded degrees. At the same time 44,235 graduates and post graduates from the distance mode would also be given degrees in absentia. (Maxim News)
