According to officials, the first biometric Aadhaar update for students in the age group will be conducted free of cost.
However, the second biometric update will attract a fee of Rs 125, as per UIDAI norms.
In addition, any changes to existing Aadhaar details such as name, date of birth, or address will require a fee of Rs 75. Therefore, parents have been advised to verify documents in advance to avoid repeated corrections.
The department said the special Aadhaar camps will be conducted through mobile units. Details regarding camp schedules and participating schools will be shared at the district and mandal levels.
Parents have been asked to contact District Education Officers or Mandal Education Officers for exact dates and locations. Meanwhile, school authorities will also inform parents through official communication channels.
Officials stated that Aadhaar updates are essential for accessing student welfare schemes, scholarships, and education related services.
Hence, the school based Aadhaar camps are expected to improve coverage and compliance.
The decision has been welcomed by parents and teachers’ associations. They said the move will save time and reduce travel costs, especially for families in rural and semi urban areas.
