Secunderabad Corporation Protest Against Delimitation Plan

- Secunderabad Corporation movement to intensify, says Talasani
The Secunderabad Corporation demand has gained momentum, with BRS MLA and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav announcing a series of protests against the proposed delimitation process. He said any move to divide Secunderabad into parts in the name of delimitation would not be accepted. He also demanded the formation of a separate district along with the proposed corporation.
Speaking in Hyderabad on January 11, Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the movement for Secunderabad Corporation would intensify in the coming days. He stated that Secunderabad has a distinct identity and history, and therefore any attempt to weaken its existence would face strong resistance. He alleged that there is a deliberate conspiracy to damage Secunderabad through faulty administrative decisions.
Meanwhile, he strongly objected to the redivision of GHMC divisions. He said the delimitation process contains several mistakes. He also claimed that officials divided the divisions without even informing the mayor. According to him, such actions raise serious questions about transparency and intent.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Talasani announced a clear action plan to oppose the move. He said protests would begin shortly and would continue until the government responds. He warned that the agitation would grow stronger if authorities ignored public sentiment. He stressed that Secunderabad should not be treated unfairly during the delimitation exercise.
“We have decided to protest with black badges on the 17th of this month. We will organize a rail roko and band in Secunderabad. We will hold indefinite fasts and if necessary, a fast to death. There is a conspiracy to damage the existence of Secunderabad. The re-division of GHMC divisions is riddled with mistakes. The divisions were divided without even the mayor’s knowledge,” said Talasani Srinivas Yadav.
Later, he reiterated that the Secunderabad Corporation demand reflects the aspirations of local residents. He said people would not stay silent if their region is divided into pieces.
He also added that the protest programmes would remain peaceful but firm. He urged the government to review the delimitation process and address the concerns raised.
Therefore, the issue has now taken a political turn, with the BRS stepping up pressure on the government. The coming days are expected to see heightened activity in Secunderabad as the agitation gathers pace. The focus, however, remains on protecting the identity of Secunderabad and ensuring fair administrative decisions.
