- Seethakka counter to KTR over women welfare allegations
- Minister defends govt schemes, questions BRS record
Hyderabad: Seethakka counter to KTR marked a sharp exchange in the Telangana Assembly as the minister rejected allegations made by the opposition leader. She said KTR was making claims that were far from the truth on women welfare.
Speaking during the discussion on the motion thanking the Governor’s address, Minister Seethakka defended the government’s work. She said the government aims to make one crore women into millionaires. She added that the administration is working with a clear focus on women empowerment.
Meanwhile, she called on the opposition to act responsibly and support these efforts. She said the government has set clear goals for women’s welfare and empowerment across the state. She also shared figures to back her claims. According to her, the government has provided loans worth more than Rs. 57,000 crore to women’s groups so far.
However, she criticised the opposition for mocking every scheme introduced by the government. She said such an approach is not appropriate. She then questioned the BRS on its past record. She asked why the party could not implement similar initiatives during its ten years in power.
Seethakka also targeted KTR personally during her remarks. She said he has shown a dismissive attitude towards women from the beginning. She alleged that this is why he is unable to accept the government’s work and continues to criticise it.
Later, the minister reiterated that the government remains committed to women’s welfare. She stressed that its policies aim to bring economic growth and support to women across the state. The exchange added intensity to the ongoing Assembly debate, as both sides continued to defend their positions.
