Shock Of Defeat In Huzurnagar By-polls Break KCR’s Slumber: Uttam

Huzurnagar, October 13(Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy strongly condemned the attitude and approach of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in dealing with the RTC strike.

Addressing a series of corner meetings in Mattampally mandal as part of campaign for Huzurnagar bye-elections on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy described KCR as the most irresponsible and insensitive Chief Minister. He said it was KCR’s arrogance that drove RTC driver Srinivas Reddy to suicide. He said that the TRS Government did not respond when RTC unions served the strike notice as per rules and made no efforts to meet their justified demands. When the RTC employees went on strike, the Chief Minister reacted in an insane manner and announced dismissal of more than 48,000 employees in a single stroke. He also stopped their previous month salaries and they were also denied treatment at RTC Hospital, he said.

“It was KCR’s cruelty and dictatorial attitude that instilled fear of insecurity and helplessness among employees. Consequently, one driver committed while four others died of heart attack. Instead of being sympathetic, KCR is maintaining adamant attitude just to satisfy his false ego. This behaviour is not good for Telangana State,” he said. He also ridiculed the TRS ministers for blaming the opposition parties for RTC strike. He said that the Chief Minister was not willing to meet or discuss with the RTC employees to resolve their problems and the ministers are not authorised to take a decision. “This is a democracy where every citizen has rights and must be treated with respect and dignity. The Chief Minister and his team are insulting RTC employees with their rude statements every day and they simply want the RTC employees to surrender unconditionally,” he said.

Announcing full support to the RTC employees, he appealed to them not to resort to any extreme step.

Uttam Kumar Reddy challenged TRS leaders to identify a single section of the society which was happy with their government. He said more than 4,000 farmers committed suicide under TRS regime and the Chief Minister simply went into denial mode. He said the promised crop loan waiver of Rs. 1 lakh was not yet implemented. Nearly 50% of farmers did not get the Rythu Bandhu amount. Lakhs of farmers suffered due to shortage of urea. But KCR and his ministers always went in denial mode. He demanded that the Chief Minister come out of his illusionary world and start accepting the reality.

The TPCC Chief said that the TRS Government was in deep slumber and a severe shock was needed to wake it up. He said that shock will be given on October 21 when people of Huzurnagar would vote in favour of Congress party to give a humiliating defeat to TRS. “All the unfulfilled promises like crop loan waiver, double bed room houses for poor, unemployment allowance, etc., will be fulfilled if TRS loses Huzurnagar bye-elections. The results will instil fear among TRS leaders of getting same treatment across the State and they will start working. Congress victory in Huzurnagar will drive the Chief Minister out of Pragathi Bhavan and he will be forced to listen and resolve the problems being faced by the people,” he said.

Listing out his contribution in development of Huzurnagar constituency, Uttam Kumar Reddy said he brought many lift irrigation schemes in the constituency and developed a good infrastructure like roads, street lights, electricity and housing. He said better road connectivity across Huzurnagar boosted the land value and people of Huzurnagar benefited from the real estate boom. He said the development works which he initiated in 2009 as the MLA should be continued without any obstructions which are possible only if Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy wins the elections.
