‘SIR’ Deadline Extended By A Week: Final List On February 14

Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 30 (Maxim News): The Election Commission (EC) has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline for revision and cleanup of voter lists in 12 states and union territories of the country by a week. (SIR Deadline Extended) With this, the counting of voters will end on December 11 instead of December 4.

In the wake of the extension of the ‘SIR’ deadline, the draft voter lists, which were to be released on December 9, will be released on December 16 in the respective states and union territories. The EC said that the final list will be published on February 14. It issued orders to this effect on Sunday.

 leaders of Trinamool Congress and other opposition parties met Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi. They urged the EC to reschedule the Sir process. The EC has extended the ‘Sir’ deadline by another week. (Maxim News)
