Hyderabad: Six cars were gutted after a fire broke out in the cellar of a residential building at HUDA Enclave in Journalist Colony, Filmnagar, on Saturday night.
No casualties were reported in the incident. Firefighters safely evacuated 15 people from the building before starting the firefighting operation.
Fire Breaks Out in Filmnagar Building Cellar
The fire department received information about the blaze and immediately deployed fire tenders from Panjagutta, Jubilee Hills and Annapurna Studio.
When firefighters reached the residential building, they found 15 occupants inside. The fire personnel evacuated all of them to safety as smoke and flames spread through the cellar.
The fire had engulfed vehicles parked in the cellar. Firefighters launched a coordinated operation and managed to bring the blaze under control.
Six cars were reportedly completely gutted in the fire. However, the prompt response by the fire personnel prevented any loss of life.
Fire officials said the residents were evacuated safely before the situation could escalate.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. Officials are expected to determine the cause after a detailed assessment of the incident and the affected premises.
