Hyderabad, July 7: An 11-year-old girl sustained critical head and multiple injuries after a speeding auto-rickshaw struck her in Hydershakote under Narsingi police limits on Tuesday, July 7.
The girl, identified as Sriharika, stepped out of her home near Yadav Bhavan Hotel when the vehicle hit her.
Locals and family members rushed her to a private hospital, where she remains under emergency care. Police reviewed CCTV from the scene and traced the vehicle and driver.
They arrested the driver, identified as Arbaaz, son of Hasan Ali, and seized the auto-rickshaw. Authorities said they suspect the driver was under the influence and conducted a drunk-driving test; results are pending. A case has been registered and investigations continue.
