Stir Launched To Protect TSRTC From Land Sharks, JAC Leader Reiterates Demand

Hyderabad, Oct.6 ( Maxim News): Making it clear that TSRTC trade unions launched indefinite strike from Friday midnight for future of the Corporation and not for pay hike, TMU general secretary Ashwadhama Reddy today alleged that the State government was planning to close down the corporation and acquire its lands.

Addressing a round table here, he accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao of conspiring to close the RTC and usurp its lands. Stating that the crew was voluntarily participating in the strike, the JAC leader said they are committed to protect the RTC from the conspiracies of the KCR government, which was trying to own entire assets of the RTC. He also alleged that the TSRTC management was ready to give land of the corporation beside Bus Bhavan on lease if the Chief Minister KCR’s family asked for it. He made it clear that the RTC crew and staff will not succumb to the government’s threat of removing them from jobs.

Thanking the Opposition parties and several employees unions for extending their support to their strike, Ashwadhama Reddy slammed the Chief Minister for threatening to remove the employees for joining the strike. “The hostile attitude of the government forced us to go on strike”, he said, adding that the Cabinet sub-committee has miserably failed to find a solution to help end the strike amicably.

Taking serious exception to Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar’s threats to remove the protestors from their jobs, Ashwadhama Reddy said the former, who had nothing to do with TSRTC affairs, called a press meet in midnight and issued threat to sack the striking employees if they failed to report to duty on Saturday evening. He also said Puvvada, who did not support statehood movement was now talking against welfare of the RTC crew.

Reiterating that the State government must merge the RTC into it and extend PRC as asked for, Ashwadhama Reddy said the strike will continue unabated until the government conceded all their demands. Stating that the RTC crew strike was the beginning of end of KCR rule, Aswadhama said KCR rule will never return to power if collapsed once. (Maxim News)
