In 2013, 1200 MPHSs were appointed under compassionate appointments in the joint AP.  However, the Telangana High Court quashed the appointment process.  During the hearing, the government told the court that those 1200 people were appointed under compassionate appointments.  After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the Telangana High Court cancelled the appointments of 1200 Multi-Purpose Health Assistants.  The employees approached the Supreme Court on this.

The country’s highest court, which recently took up the matter, has overturned the Telangana High Court verdict.  It has issued a key verdict that multi-purpose health assistants can continue in their jobs.  (Maxim News)
