Telangana A Example In The Country For Implementing Schemes: Mayor

Hyderabad, June 2 (Maxim news): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor, Gadwal Vijayalaxmi said that we have reached the decade of Telangana formed by the sacrifices of the activists in the Telangana movement which lasted for 14 years in the pursuit of water, funds and employment. She said that since the leader of the movement K. Chandrasekhar Rao became the Chief Minister, Telangana State has become an example in the country by identifying the needs of the people and implementing development and welfare schemes in an innovative manner.

Speaking on the 10th Telangana Formation Day celebration by hoisting the national flag at GHMC headquarters, Vijayalakshmi took salute from the police and said “I pay tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in achieving the separate state of Telangana.

During these 9 years of Telangana formation, GHMC infrastructure development has taken up a massive, modern road system for better public transport, welfare, and social. She said that GHMC is providing full support to the city residents for economic development. set up ward offices to provide administration for quick resolution of public problems.

Ward offices work towards expeditious resolution of complaints along with administration in front of the people. At present GHMC is administered through a three tier system head Office, Zonal, circle, Ward offices as 4th administrative unit will be inaugurated on Good Governance Day on June 10 on the occasion of Telangana Decade celebrations to provide more satisfactory services, she said.

Ward Administration officer is the main role of 10 staff in the ward office, which is established in 150 wards across GHMC. Along with him, the staff of Engineering, entomology, Sanitation, urban Community, Biodiversity, electricity and water board will work and solve the complaints received through various media according to the citizen chart.

Under SRDP so far spent Rs. 33,248.53 crores for 35 different types of works which have been completed, out of which 19 are flyovers, 7 ROBs, 5 under passes, 1 cable bridge, Panjagutta Bridge, ORR to medak Rehabilitation works have been completed. Out of the remaining 13 works, 10 works will be completed withn the stipulated time frame, she said. (Maxim News)
