Committee Chairman Dr K. Keshava Rao led the meeting. Committee member Prof. M. Kodandaram, Executive Members Mothe Shobhan Reddy and S. Ramulu Naik, along with other officials, also attended the programme.
They personally reviewed documents and listened to the experiences of activists who travelled from different districts.
During the meeting, committee members said activists from Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Nirmal, and Adilabad played a significant role in the Telangana movement.
They noted that students, RTC employees, Singareni workers, tribal communities, and people from various sections of society strengthened the statehood movement through protests and public mobilisation.
Meanwhile, representatives of the activists submitted several welfare demands before the committee.
They requested the government to allot 250 square yards of residential land to eligible activists who do not own a house. They also sought a monthly lifetime pension to ensure financial security during old age.
Furthermore, the activists demanded reservation benefits for their children in educational institutions and government jobs. They also requested priority in self employment schemes for women activists who actively participated in the Telangana movement.
In addition, the delegation urged the government to provide free treatment in government and empanelled corporate hospitals through special digital health cards.
They also sought free education from KG to PG for the children and future generations of recognised activists.
The activists further requested the government to introduce lifetime free travel passes in TSRTC buses for recognised movement participants. They said the facility would support elderly activists who continue to face financial difficulties.
Responding to the representations, committee members assured the participants that every genuine demand would receive careful consideration.
They said the committee has recorded all submissions and will ensure that no eligible activist faces injustice during the recognition process.
The committee also stated that the consultation process will continue until July 22. Thereafter, it will prepare a comprehensive report based on the discussions held across Telangana. Finally, the committee will submit its recommendations to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for further action.
The Telangana Activists Recognition Committee said the consultations aim to create a transparent and credible framework for recognising movement activists while addressing their long pending welfare concerns.
