Hyderabad, May 19 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has started elaborate preparations for the Telangana Formation Day celebrations scheduled on June 2 at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. State Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj on Tuesday directed senior officials to make all necessary arrangements to conduct the event in a grand manner.
He reviewed the arrangements with senior officials during a high level meeting held at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat.
Vikas Raj said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will first visit Gun Park and pay floral tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Amaraveerula Stupam. After that, the Chief Minister will participate in the main Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds.
The Special Chief Secretary instructed officials to complete all arrangements at Parade Grounds and Gun Park without delay. He directed every department to appoint a nodal officer to ensure better coordination among all departments involved in the celebrations.
He also instructed the police department to make adequate security arrangements along the routes used by dignitaries. Officials were asked to prepare a detailed traffic route map and ensure that vehicles reaching Parade Grounds do not face any inconvenience. He further directed police officials to take precautions to avoid traffic disruptions in the city during the celebrations.
Vikas Raj instructed the Roads and Buildings Department to install waterproof shamianas and proper barricading arrangements at the venue. He also directed sanitation officials to maintain cleanliness at the meeting venue and surrounding areas.
Officials were instructed to arrange sufficient drinking water facilities for visitors and participants attending the event.

The Cultural Department was asked to organise performances by artists to create a festive atmosphere during the Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
The power department was directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and arrange backup generators for the event. Officials were also instructed to decorate major landmarks and government buildings in Hyderabad with decorative lighting. These include the State Assembly, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, Charminar, Praja Bhavan and other government offices.
Vikas Raj further instructed the Information and Public Relations Department to arrange live telecast facilities to ensure wide publicity for the Telangana Formation Day celebrations across the state.
He directed all departments to work in coordination and conduct the programme successfully. Officials from all departments were also instructed to jointly begin rehearsals at Parade Grounds from May 25.
Senior officials who attended the meeting included Special Chief Secretary Naveen Mittal, Home Department Principal Secretary Shikha Goel, Secretary Raghunandan Rao, DGP Law and Order Mahesh Bhagwat, ADG Intelligence Vijay Kumar, TGGENCO CMD Harish, Information and Public Relations Department Special Commissioner Mukunda Reddy, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Managing Director Ashok Reddy, senior police officers and officials from various government departments.(Maxim News)
