Hyderabad, August 4: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has directed officials to ensure that all government offices in the State use T-Fiber internet services exclusively from September 1, as part of efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and reduce government expenditure.
During a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on the expansion of T-Fiber services, the Minister instructed officials to complete internet connectivity for every government office within the stipulated timeline.
He made it clear that from September 1, government departments should stop using private internet service providers and discontinue payments for private internet connections.
Sridhar Babu directed officials to complete the migration of the existing T-SWAN network, currently used by government departments, to the T-Fiber network within the next month.
He instructed officials to ensure the transition is completed without delays to establish a unified and efficient digital communication network across the government.
The Minister also asked officials to prepare plans for providing advanced T-Fiber connectivity to the proposed Future City, ensuring the infrastructure is capable of meeting future digital and technological requirements.
Reviewing the progress of the government’s “Internet to Every Household” initiative, Sridhar Babu directed officials to accelerate broadband expansion in rural areas.
He stressed the importance of achieving the programme’s targets within the prescribed timeline and called for coordinated efforts to make Telangana a leader in digital connectivity across the country.
