Telangana Tightens Border Checks to Prevent Bird Flu Spread

Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has tightened border checks to prevent bird flu from spreading into the state. This comes after a suspected outbreak in Andhra Pradesh, which has led to an increase in chicken deaths.

Strict Border Inspections

Today, special teams from the district veterinary department were stationed at the Alampur toll plaza to inspect poultry trucks coming from Kurnool and nearby areas. Any vehicles carrying poultry were either turned back or denied entry. Similar inspections were carried out on Monday as well.

Precautionary Measures

Officials from the animal husbandry and police departments have been instructed to stop all poultry and bird feed transport from Andhra Pradesh. Poultry farmers in border areas have been advised to follow strict hygiene measures to prevent the virus from spreading.

Authorities have put all border districts, including Jogulamba Gadwal, on high alert to ensure no poultry vehicles enter Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. (Maxim News)
