Hyderabad, May 11: The Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has constituted a special bench to hear the POCSO related case involving Sai Bageerath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
According to officials, the special bench was formed after serious allegations surfaced in a complaint filed by a minor girl against Sai Bageerath.
The Petbasheerabad Police registered a case on May 8 following the victim’s complaint. The minor alleged that Sai Bageerath behaved inappropriately with her and touched her private parts on multiple occasions during a New Year party held at a farmhouse in Moinabad.
TGSCPCR seeks report from Cyberabad Police
TGSCPCR Chairman N Dayakar Reddy sought a detailed report from the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate regarding the status of the investigation and the action taken so far in the case.
The development comes amid increasing political attention and public criticism over the alleged delay in the investigation. Earlier, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed the State police to constitute a special investigation team to probe the matter.
Meanwhile, opposition parties and student organisations have intensified protests demanding immediate action and a transparent investigation into the allegations.
Police officials have not yet issued a detailed public statement on the progress of the probe. Further investigation is underway.
