Hyderabad, June 27: Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao directed district authorities to remain on high alert and strengthen preparedness measures to prevent loss of life and crop damage in view of possible Godavari floods.
Chairing a district level review meeting at the Kothagudem Collectorate on Saturday, the Minister reviewed advance planning for flood management in the Godavari catchment areas of Bhadrachalam and Pinapaka constituencies.
He instructed officials to ensure that the district administration remains fully prepared to respond to any flood situation.
District Administration Asked To Strengthen Flood Preparedness
Tummala asked officials from all departments to work in coordination and use lessons learned from previous flood situations.
He directed authorities to identify villages that may become isolated if road connectivity is disrupted due to rising water levels.
The Minister also stressed the need for a clear action plan to ensure uninterrupted emergency medical services and transport of essential supplies during floods.
He said preparedness measures should focus on avoiding disruption and protecting both residents and agricultural activity.
MLAs Tellam Venkat Rao and Payam Venkateswarlu, District Collector Ankit, District Superintendent of Police Rohit Raj, ITDA Project Officer Rahul, Mayor Mood Ganesh and officials from multiple government departments attended the review meeting.
