Two Students With Same Hall Ticket Number, One Denied Exam

Khammam/Hyderabad, Feb 23 (Maxim News): A troubling incident surfaced during the state-wide Gurukul entrance exams in Khammam district, where two students were mistakenly assigned the same hall ticket number. While one student was permitted to take the exam, the other was denied entry by the authorities.

The affected student and his parents have called on the District Collector to intervene and grant him the opportunity to sit for the exam. The incident occurred at Swarna Bharathi College in Khammam Rural Mandal.

The entrance exams, conducted for admissions into government Gurukuls across Telangana, saw 1,67,649 applicants vying for 51,968 seats across SC, ST, and BC residential educational institution societies for classes 5 to 9. Of these, 88,451 students applied for Class 5, while 11,871 applicants competed for backlog seats in Class 9.

This year, applications increased by 15,000 compared to the previous year. The exam, held from 11 AM to 1 PM across 446 centers, followed an OMR-based format and carried a total of 100 marks. (Maxim News)
