Trump said that he wanted to know how those nuclear weapons work, that he would test nuclear weapons like other countries, that he was not the only one testing them, and that he did not want to be on the list of countries that did not test. The United States last tested a nuclear weapon in 1992. If tests were to be conducted again, it is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Energy Secretary Chris Wright clarified that there would be no actual nuclear tests in Trump’s orders. He said that they are called non-critical tests.

Russia and China have been accused of conducting secret nuclear tests in recent times. But both countries reportedly conducted their last nuclear tests in the 1990s. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the recent tests of the Burevestnik cruise missile and the Poseidon torpedo did not involve the use of nuclear weapons. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if other countries conduct nuclear tests, they will follow suit. (Maxim News)
