Hyderabad: A two year old boy died after an AC fire broke out inside a house in Kacheguda on Friday. The tragic incident occurred at a residence in Sundar Nagar at around 5 pm. The child was inside the room when the air conditioner caught fire, leading to a fatal outcome.
According to preliminary information, the air conditioner suddenly caught fire and quickly spread flames inside the room. Thick smoke filled the space within a short time. The child, who was alone in the room at that moment, suffered severe burns. He also lost consciousness due to the intensity of the fire and smoke. Meanwhile, family members noticed the situation and rushed to rescue him.
The family immediately shifted the toddler to a nearby private hospital for treatment. However, doctors examined the child and declared him dead on arrival. The sudden loss left the family in deep shock. Later, hospital authorities informed the police about the death, as required in such cases.
Kacheguda police reached the hospital and gathered initial details from the family. Police officials confirmed that the fire started from the air conditioner unit. Therefore, they treated the incident as a fire accident linked to the AC. The police registered a case to document the circumstances surrounding the death. Meanwhile, officers said they will follow standard procedure during the investigation.
