Will Continue Stir As Govt Keeps Mum On Our Offer: Ashwathama

Hyderabad, Nov.23 (Maxim News): TSRTC Employees’ Unions’ JAC convener E Ashwathama Reddy today said they would continue the strike as there was no response from the State government to allow the crew to resume duties. Speaking to mediapersons here today, Ashwathama Reddy said they will inform RTC in-charge Managing Director Sunil Sharma of their resolve to continue the strike. “We hope the State government will take a good decision in favor of the RTC employees”, Ashwathama Reddy said, adding that the strike will continue if Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao failed to take the employees back to duties. “As we have made an announcement to call off the strike, the government must respond and protect our rights”, he said.

The JAC convener also said they would announce their future plan of protests on Sunday. He said the women RTC employees will stage protests at the MGBS on Sunday to press the government on the retaining demand. It was also decided to conduct human chain protests at all the bus depots in all districts on Sunday after paying tributes to Telangana ideologue Professor K. Jayashankar. The JAC convener also exhorted the employees not to be scared and assured that the RTC would not be privatized as there was no such provision in the law. In response to JAC call, the RTC crew took part in rallies in front of bus depots across the State on Saturday. Raising placards saying ‘Save RTC’ and shouting slogans, the employees participated in the rallies in large numbers. On their part, the police deployed more personnel to prevent any untoward incidents at the depots. (Maxim News)
