Hyderabad: A 35-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after pushing her two children into a well following a domestic dispute with her husband in Shankarpally on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday night.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as Vasantha (35), and her husband Sudhakar, natives of Kodangal, had been residing in Kothapally village under the Shankarpally Police Station limits.
Police said the couple allegedly had an argument on Thursday night. Following the dispute, Vasantha is suspected to have pushed her 15-year-old daughter Navya and 10-year-old son into a nearby well before jumping into it herself.

The boy reportedly survived by clinging to a tree branch inside the well until local residents and rescue personnel reached the spot. However, Vasantha and her daughter drowned.
After receiving information, the Shankarpally Police rushed to the scene and, with the assistance of local residents and rescue teams, rescued the boy and recovered the bodies of the mother and daughter from the well.
The injured boy was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the incident. Further inquiry is underway.
