Azamgarh, June 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly condemned social media trolling targeting the daughter of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and said personal attacks on children have no place in politics.
Speaking during a public event in Azamgarh while laying the foundation stone for development projects, Yogi said girls should not be dragged into political disputes. He stated that obscene and hateful comments against women and minors would not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister said he ordered immediate police action after learning about objectionable content circulating online. According to him, an FIR was registered and authorities were instructed to investigate the matter.
Yogi calls for responsible political conduct
Yogi said society should treat every girl with dignity and respect. He added that cultural values promote viewing girls as daughters and sisters and rejected attempts to target them through social media campaigns.
Police later registered a cyber case against individuals accused of circulating morphed images and defamatory content. The action reportedly followed complaints submitted by Samajwadi Party leaders over posts shared on X.
The Chief Minister also urged political parties to ensure that their workers and supporters maintain respectful language toward women, elders and public representatives.
Referring to political discourse, Yogi said leaders should encourage disciplined public conduct and avoid language that promotes hostility or personal attacks.
