Delhi/Hyderabad, June 3 (Maxim News): Pakistan released 200 Indian fishermen at the Attari-Wagah border joint check post. They were later handed over to the Indian Border Security Force.

All the fishermen reached India at 1 am through the Attari-Wagah border land transport route using the “emergency Travel Certificate” issued by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, an official said. All the fishermen from Porbandar, Somnath and Gir areas of Gujarat have been in Lathi Jail near Karachi for many years. Now that they have been released, the family members have thanked the government. Last month also, the Pakistani government released 199 fishermen due to the actions of the Indian government.

The fishermen’s boats were detained after they allegedly slipped into Pakistan through territorial waters in the Arabian Sea.
