JNAFAU Announces Introduction of a New Master’s Course in the “Energy and Sustainable Built Environment”

Hyderabad: The School of Planning and Architecture, Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) today announced the introduction of a New Master’s Course in Energy and Sustainable Built Environment. The University also held a meeting with subject experts to address the internal gathering on Friday on the subject.

Giving details, Prof. Dr. N. Kavita Daryani Rao, Vice Chancellor informed that this is the first educational institute in the state of Telangana to introduce such a course which is a need of the hour.  Though some institutions offer subjects related to this outside Telangana, this is the first time it is offered in Telangana.

The course will commence in September or October this year.  It is a full-time program.  It is offered in collaboration with Industry and Subject Experts. It will have 20 intakes. 

It will train students to be experts in roles such as Green Building Analyst, Renewable Energy Specialist, Environmental Policy Adviser, Energy Efficient Manager, Building Inspector, Sustainable Materials Researcher, Carbon Footprint Analyst, Climate Resilience Planner, Sustainability Educator, Circular Economy Specialist, Urban Regeneration Manager, Net Zero Energy Consultant and Energy Policy Analyst, Dr. N. Kavita Rao informed.

We strongly felt the need for such a course as the world is looking for sustainable solutions.  Escalating global concerns regarding climate change and sustainable development requires trained professionals in this subject, she added

JNAFAU is offering this course with the aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address the challenges of energy, the built environment, and sustainable development.

Embracing a multidisciplinary approach, this program stands as a unique and one-of-its-kind offering in the state, the Vice Chancellor added.

The Applications are now open.  Any Bachelor’s Degree in B.Tech or B. Design or B. Arch will be eligible.  The candidates have to be Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) qualified.
