CBI Files Petition Seeking Permission to Question MLC Kavitha

Delhi/Hyderabad, April 5 (Maxim News):  The CBI has filed a petition in Delhi’s rouse Avenue Court seeking permission to interrogate BRS MLC K. Kavitha, who was arrested last month in this case.

She is currently in Tihar Jail under judicial custody and asked for permission to interrogate her.

It may be recalled that the CBI officials interrogated Kavitha at her residence in Hyderabad in December last year regarding this case.

The CBI first registered a case on the orders of the Union Home Ministry on the allegations that money had changed hands in the Delhi Liquor Scam case and that the liquor policy had been made to benefit private individuals.  Kavitha has already been interrogated by the CBI. 

ED officials arrested her on the 15th of last month. She was taken into custody for ten days and questioned.  She is currently in Tihar Jail as a part of judicial custody as the investigation is over.

It is noteworthy that the CBI officials have requested permission to file a special petition to question Kavitha once again as part of the investigation.

Kavita’s lawyers have to file a reply on this.  Her lawyers stated that they have not yet received a copy of the petition on which points the CBI is prepared to question and points have been included.

However, it remains to be seen what decision the court will take on this petition.  (Maxim News)
