Viral Video: ‘I Love Muhammad’ Banner in Hyderabad Sparks New Controversy
Hyderabad, Oct. 9: (Maxim News): The ‘I Love Muhammad’ controversy that first erupted in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has now spread to several other states. Recently, similar banners have appeared in Hyderabad, drawing public attention and online debate.
In Hyderabad’s Chandrayangutta area, a group of Muslim youths reportedly installed a banner reading “I Love Muhammad” and recorded a video on the occasion. In the clip, the youths allegedly used strong language against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
They asserted that Telangana and Hyderabad would not tolerate “UP-style politics,” saying, “Your tricks won’t work here. If you have the courage, try to remove our banner.” The individuals in the video further challenged anyone attempting to take down the banner, stating that they should be prepared to confront them first. Their comments reportedly included harsh remarks directed at the UP CM.
The controversy, which began in Kanpur on September 4 during Eid-e-Milad processions, quickly spread to other states including Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and now Telangana. In the original incident, banners proclaiming “I Love Muhammad” were displayed in Kanpur and Rawatpur.
Tensions arose when some Hindu groups objected, calling it a newly introduced tradition. Police intervened, removing the banners and emphasizing that introducing new customs during religious processions was against official regulations. Reports indicated that 24 people were initially booked, though police later clarified that no cases were filed against the individuals who put up the banners.
Just as the situation in UP was calming, the recent act in Hyderabad reignited public discussion. The video of the Hyderabad youths challenging CM Yogi Adityanath has since gone viral on social media. Many netizens have demanded their immediate arrest and strict action for using offensive language toward the chief minister. (Maxim News)
