- CM Revanth Reddy directs officials to finish new Osmania Hospital construction soon
- Coordination committee formed to ensure speedy progress and planning
Hyderabad, Oct 22 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to complete the construction of the new Osmania Hospital within two years. Emphasizing the project’s significance for public healthcare, he held a detailed review meeting at his residence on Wednesday to track its progress and resolve existing delays.
The Chief Minister advised officials to design the new hospital with a focus on advanced medical infrastructure and future needs. He directed engineering teams to plan hospital spaces such as rooms, laboratories, and diagnostic areas to accommodate modern medical equipment. He also asked them to take up road works around the site to ensure smooth access and minimal inconvenience to nearby residents during construction.
To speed up the process, Revanth Reddy ordered the formation of a coordination committee comprising officials from the Health, Police, GHMC, Roads & Buildings, and Electricity Departments. The committee will inspect the site regularly and meet once every ten days to identify and resolve bottlenecks quickly. The Chief Minister also asked the Police Department to prepare plans in advance for managing security and traffic flow once the hospital becomes operational. Additionally, the Roads & Buildings Department was tasked with connecting the hospital to the surrounding network of roads.
Revanth Reddy further directed officials to assign dedicated officers for ongoing hospital and medical college construction projects in Hyderabad and other districts. He said each officer must take full responsibility for round-the-clock supervision to ensure timely completion. All pending medical infrastructure works, he added, should be completed by June of next year.
Senior officials including Principal Secretaries V. Seshadri and Srinivas Raju, CM’s Secretary Manick Raj, DGP Shivadhar Reddy, and others such as Vikas Raj, Christina Zongthu, and Ilambarathi attended the high-level review meeting.
