- Shabbir Ali outlines support for Haj pilgrims in Mecca and Madinah
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on December 30 assured that the Congress government will ensure fool proof and elaborate Haj pilgrims arrangements for all selected pilgrims from Telangana. He said the government will extend full support from departure until return, including services at the holy sites in Mecca and Madinah. He made these remarks while addressing a special Haj training camp in Nizamabad for pilgrims selected for Haj 2026.
The Haj training camp was organised by the Nizamabad District Haj Society at Nizam Palace Function Hall on Bodhan Road. A total of 426 Haj pilgrims from the united Nizamabad district attended the programme. This included 382 pilgrims from Nizamabad and 84 from Kamareddy. The session began in the morning and continued until 2 PM, with active participation from the pilgrims.
During the camp, religious scholars provided detailed guidance on Islamic rituals related to Haj. They explained essential dos and don’ts, safety measures, travel procedures, and accommodation arrangements. Meanwhile, the scholars also discussed common issues faced by Haj pilgrims and how to address them during the journey. Special facilities were arranged for women pilgrims, including dedicated seating and separate guidance, ensuring comfort and clarity.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Shabbir Ali reiterated the commitment of the Congress government. “Congress government will provide fool-proof and elaborate arrangements for all Haj pilgrims – from Telangana and at the holy sites in Mecca and Madinah,” he said. He further added, “Every pilgrim from Telangana will be fully supported, from departure to return. We are also arranging special services for Telangana pilgrims in Mecca and Madinah.” Therefore, he urged pilgrims to focus on prayers and spiritual discipline.

Sharing his personal Haj experience, Shabbir Ali said, “The moment you see the Holy Kaaba, you start praying. I was blessed with the opportunity to perform sajda on all four sides inside the Kaaba – an experience that stays with you forever.” He advised pilgrims to spend maximum time in Haram Shareef, eat and drink less, and avoid distractions, especially mobile phones.
He also noted that Hyderabad will serve as the embarkation point for pilgrims from 17 states this year. Out of Telangana’s quota of 11,757 pilgrims, 8,286 applications have already been cleared. Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Syed Gulam Afzal Biabani also addressed the camp and conveyed his best wishes. Pilgrims later expressed satisfaction, saying the session helped them feel spiritually prepared and practically informed for Haj 2026.
