Congress Goes All Out In Hyderabad With 45-Member DCC Revamp, Online Application Portal Launched
Hyderabad, December 31: In a significant move to strengthen its organisational base in Hyderabad, the Congress party has unveiled a new 45-member structure for the Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC). The party also launched an online application process for interested candidates, signalling a shift towards a more inclusive and tech-driven approach.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Hyderabad DCC President Syed Khalid Saifullah said the Congress has always enjoyed a strong supporter base in the city, but lacked consistent organisational strength at the grassroots level. “Now the focus is entirely on rebuilding the organisation. We want a team that is committed, dynamic, and aligned with Congress values,” he said.
The new DCC structure is being formed in line with the party’s broader organisational strengthening exercise across the country. It will cover all five Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad – Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Malakpet, and Yakutpura – and ten Blocks. The structure will include: 1 Treasurer; 5 Spokespersons; 10 Vice Presidents; 5 General Secretaries; 9 Secretaries and 15 Executive Committee Members.
In addition to the core team, 44 Division Presidents will also be appointed to ensure active party functioning in every corner of the district. Congress activities are set to be revitalised across all 44 divisions under this new plan.
To streamline the selection process and encourage broader participation, an online application portal has been launched. The link – https://join.hyderabadcongress.in/dcc – will remain open till 4th January. Party members have been encouraged to apply and also share the link to ensure maximum outreach and representation.
Khalid Saifullah emphasised that the selection will be merit-based, with a focus on qualities like dedication, integrity, and long-term commitment to the Congress party. “We are looking to build a strong, diverse team that reflects the spirit of Hyderabad and the values of Congress,” he said.
AICC Observers Mohammad Javeed and Subramanyam, appointed to supervise the reconstitution process, have stressed the need for adequate representation for women, youth, SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. They have specifically recommended that women must be given 20-25% representation in the new DCC.
With this reorganisation and digital outreach, the Congress is aiming to revive its urban presence and rebuild its cadre network in Hyderabad through structured, grassroots-level engagement. (Maxim News)
