According to the Commissioner, fraudsters lure victims through attractive messages. These include claims such as “Double profits on your investment” or “Become a billionaire overnight”. As a result, many people have lost substantial amounts of money to these scams. Therefore, the police have urged citizens to stay alert and avoid such offers.

VC Sajjanar expressed concern over the growing number of cases. He said it is painful to see victims suffer heavy losses. “It is truly heartbreaking to see the plight of these victims who have lost huge large sums of money to fraudsters. People must realise that relationships and friendships often cease to exist when money is involved, and excessive greed leads to total ruin,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner advised immediate action if someone realizes they have been cheated. He stressed that quick reporting increases the chances of recovery. If you realise you have been cheated, call the number 1930 immediately. The sooner you call, the higher the chances of recovering your money, said the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, adding that the people should be vigilant and not fall prey to fraudsters.

The police have reiterated that citizens must exercise caution while dealing with online investment offers. Attractive promises of quick wealth often turn into major financial losses. Therefore, authorities continue to advise residents to verify claims and report suspicious activities without delay.
