Hyderabad: The Moinabad Drug Party Raid by the EAGLE team of Telangana police led to the detention of ten persons, including a Member of Parliament from Andhra Pradesh and a woman, on suspicion of using drugs at a party held at a farmhouse linked to a former MLA.
Police carried out the raid at the farmhouse located in Moinabad on Sunday. According to police sources, the operation followed a tip off about a group gathering for a suspected drug party where cocaine had been procured.
The EAGLE team conducted the raid with the help of the Future City police. Officers entered the premises and detained the individuals present at the location. Authorities then conducted drug tests on those taken into custody.
Police find cocaine during Moinabad drug party raid
Police sources said that five persons tested positive during the drug test. The former MLA was among those who tested positive, according to officials. Meanwhile, the MP from Andhra Pradesh tested negative in the drug test conducted after the raid.
During the operation, the police also recovered several items from the farmhouse. Officers seized a revolver along with live rounds. In addition, they recovered some quantity of cocaine from the location.
Officials said the gathering was suspected to be a drug party. The raid followed information received by the EAGLE team regarding the alleged use of drugs at the farmhouse.
Ten detained after Moinabad farmhouse operation
Police officials also reported that some individuals present during the raid opposed the police action. According to sources, a few people refused to cooperate with the officers during the operation.
After the raid, authorities shifted all ten persons to the Moinabad police station for further inquiry. The police began the process of questioning those detained in connection with the suspected drug use.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. The investigation will continue to determine further details related to the gathering and the seized substances.
