Hyderabad, Mar 20 (Maxim News) : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday indicated major reforms in the state education system. He said the government plans a uniform education structure from nursery to Class 12.
During an informal media interaction, the Chief Minister spoke about education reforms. He said the government is studying changes in the examination system.
CM Revanth Reddy also said Class 10 board exams may be discontinued under the proposed reforms.
According to him, the aim is to reduce academic pressure. The government also wants a continuous learning framework. Officials are studying models followed in other education systems.
The Chief Minister said the reforms aim to improve learning outcomes. He added that details will emerge after policy consultations. Education department officials may soon prepare a roadmap.
Revanth Reddy comments on phone tapping and Formula E case
The Chief Minister also spoke about ongoing investigations. He said the government is following due legal process in the alleged phone tapping case. He added that arrests cannot happen without proper inquiry.
He said authorities are recording statements of key persons in the case. He also said the Centre recently granted required permissions in the Formula E race case. As part of the process, he confirmed the suspension of an official identified as Arvind Kumar.
Responding to claims by T. Harish Rao, the Chief Minister said there was no clean chit in the phone tapping case. He said a court order in a private case was being misinterpreted.
Revanth Reddy alleged that around 6,000 phones were tapped during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government. He said the government remains ready for any inquiry demanded by opposition leaders including K. T. Rama Rao.
He said the government will cooperate with any fair investigation. Further developments may depend on findings of the ongoing probes.(Maxim News)
