Actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer romantic comedy film “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” managed to attract a decent footfall on its opening day, amounting to a collection of Rs 12 crore-plus across India, the makers said.
The Shashank Khaitan directorial released on Friday, and collected Rs 12.25 crore on its first day, read a statement issued on behalf of the makers.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday: “‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ has an impressive day one… Business likely to multiply over weekend… Strong word of mouth… Friday – Rs 12.25 crore. India biz,” Adarsh tweeted on Saturday.
Komal Nahta, another trade guru, tweeted: “Badri and his Dulhania win hearts. Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ is a sureshot winner.”
Nahta speculated that the film might collect close to Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend.
