Hyderabad, April 30 (Maxim News): A rare liver transplantation was performed at Osmania General Hospital . Osmania doctors successfully completed a liver transplantation on an 18-month-old boy suffering from glycogen storage disease. The liver transplant was performed on the 10-kg baby. A part of the father’s liver was harvested and transplanted into the child. The difficult surgery lasted for 14 hours.
The doctors provided treatment completely free of cost under the Aarogyasri scheme. The doctors said that the child’s health is stable after the surgery. The doctors said that such surgeries are very rare in the government sector in the country. In this context, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha congratulated the team of Osmania doctors.
