AAP Worker Detained Near PM Modi Convoy In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A brief commotion broke out in Hyderabad on Sunday after a female worker of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) allegedly tried to move toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy during his visit to the city.

Police personnel immediately intervened and restrained the woman near the convoy route. Later, they detained her as part of security protocol during the prime minister’s movement.

A video of the incident surfaced on social media soon after. In the clip, the woman is heard questioning the prime minister over the reported rise in missing women cases and sexual assault incidents.

“How dare he come to Telangana? What about the number of missing women and rape cases? Why is he here?” she shouted while police officers stopped her from approaching the convoy.

Officials did not report any breach in the prime minister’s security. However, security teams increased vigilance along the convoy route following the incident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad earlier in the day to launch and inaugurate multiple infrastructure and industrial projects worth about Rs 9,400 crore.

The event took place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Gachibowli. Several senior BJP leaders and government officials attended the programme.

During the visit, Modi laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway 167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar. The project forms part of the Hyderabad Panaji Economic Corridor. He also launched works linked to the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district.

In addition, the prime minister inaugurated key railway and energy infrastructure projects. These included sections of the Kazipet Vijayawada multi tracking railway project, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail bypass, and a Greenfield Petroleum Oil and Lubricants terminal in Hyderabad.

He also inaugurated the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, also known as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. The project aims to strengthen textile manufacturing and generate employment in the region.

Security remained tight across Hyderabad throughout the prime minister’s visit. Police deployed additional personnel at major junctions and event venues to manage traffic and maintain law and order.
