Mohammed Azharuddin Participates in State Minorities Conference

Hyderabad, May 19: Telangana Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Mohammed Azharuddin participated in the Conference of State Minorities Commissions held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan on Monday.

The conference brought together ministers, senior officials, and members of the National Commission for Minorities to discuss welfare measures, policy coordination, and inclusive development for minority communities across the country.

Apart from serving as Telangana’s Minority Welfare Minister, Mohammed Azharuddin is also a former captain of the Indian cricket team. During the conference, he stressed the need to strengthen minority education, skill development, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, and social harmony.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju attended the meeting along with Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian. Several state ministers and senior representatives from minority commissions also participated in the discussions.

Mohammed Azharuddin Calls for Inclusive Minority Welfare

Addressing the gathering, Mohammed Azharuddin said minority youth aspire for education, empowerment, equal opportunity, dignity, and a better future within the framework of the Constitution of India. He emphasized that coordinated efforts between states and the Centre can improve welfare delivery and create long term opportunities for young people.

The Telangana minister said inclusive growth remains essential for national development. He also highlighted the importance of expanding access to educational support schemes, skill training programs, self employment initiatives, and entrepreneurship assistance for minority communities.

Azharuddin appreciated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for continuing welfare initiatives focused on minority empowerment, youth development, educational advancement, and social justice in Telangana.

The conference also witnessed the participation of Bihar Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Zama Khan, Jharkhand Minority Welfare and Water Resources Minister Hafizul Hasan, and Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf and Haj Danish Azad Ansari.

Officials and commission members discussed ways to strengthen coordination between State Minorities Commissions and the Central Government. They also reviewed measures to improve the implementation of welfare initiatives related to education, employment, social inclusion, and economic empowerment.

The meeting concluded with a call for stronger cooperation among states to ensure effective delivery of minority welfare schemes and equal opportunities for communities across India.
