Hyderabad, May 23: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said Indian youth are playing a crucial role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. He stated that the Central government has provided over 12.5 lakh jobs through the Rozgar Mela initiative launched in 2022.
Addressing the 19th Rozgar Mela held at Rail Kalarang in Bhoiguda on Saturday, Kishan Reddy said appointment letters were distributed to 51,000 candidates across 47 locations nationwide. Around 220 candidates received appointment letters in Hyderabad.
He described Rozgar Mela as more than a recruitment programme and said it reflects the Centre’s long term vision for youth empowerment and employment generation.
Rozgar Mela Expands Employment Opportunities
Kishan Reddy said infrastructure projects including roads, railways, metros, airports and industrial corridors are creating large scale employment opportunities across the country. He added that infrastructure works worth nearly Rs 12 lakh crore are being executed annually.
According to him, every lakh crore investment generates nearly 14 to 15 lakh jobs. He also said the startup ecosystem has transformed youth from job seekers into job creators.
The Union Minister stated that India now has more than 1.2 lakh startups compared to only a few hundred before 2014. He said Indian youth are excelling globally in sectors including semiconductors, drones and space technology.
Kishan Reddy highlighted India’s achievements in space exploration and said the country became the first to reach the Moon’s south pole. He also referred to indigenous drone technology used during Operation Sindoor.
He said the government is focusing on skill development programmes and modern technologies such as AI and IoT are being taught to rural youth in regional languages.
The minister added that India has emerged as the world’s fourth largest economy and urged youth to explore career opportunities in mining, coal and engineering sectors.
