New Delhi, June 1: The Union Ministry of Law and Justice on Monday announced the appointment of five judges to the Supreme Court of India, strengthening the strength of the country’s highest judicial institution.
According to notifications issued by the Law Ministry, the newly appointed judges include:
- Venkita Subramani Mohana
- Shree Chandrashekhar
- Sheel Nagu
- Sanjeev Sachdeva
- Arun Palli
Strengthening the Apex Court
The appointments were formally notified by the Union Law Ministry on Monday morning. The elevation of these judges to the Supreme Court is expected to enhance the court’s capacity to handle its growing caseload and address important constitutional, civil, criminal, and public interest matters.
Several of the newly appointed judges have served as Chief Justices of various High Courts and bring extensive judicial experience to the apex court.
The appointments follow the established process of judicial elevations and are aimed at maintaining the effective functioning of the Supreme Court.
With these additions, the Supreme Court gains experienced jurists from different High Courts across the country, further strengthening judicial representation and expertise at the national level.
