Hyderabad, June 12: BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has sparked political debate by claiming that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy could join the Bharatiya Janata Party after weakening the Congress in the state.
Speaking in a recent interview to a YouTube channel, the BJP leader said he was not aware of developments taking place at higher political levels but suggested that such a possibility could not be ruled out.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy also criticized Revanth Reddy for targeting BJP MPs and alleged that the Congress government was facing difficulties in fulfilling its election promises, including the six guarantees announced before the Assembly elections.
Referring to issues related to paddy procurement, he questioned the state government’s approach and said commitments made to farmers should be implemented effectively.
The BJP MP also responded to the recent controversy surrounding flex banners against fellow BJP leader Etala Rajender. He said strict action should be taken against those responsible for such activities.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy acknowledged that internal differences among leaders had affected the BJP’s growth in Telangana. He said the party needed to improve its use of traditional media and social media platforms to strengthen its outreach.
According to him, BJP leaders in Telangana were not moving forward collectively and efforts were being made to address coordination issues within the party.
The MP also confirmed that some BJP leaders from Telangana had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted a letter seeking corrective measures regarding organizational matters in the state unit.
His remarks are expected to trigger political reactions from both the ruling Congress and opposition parties in Telangana.
