Hyderabad, June 26: The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions for the Bibi Ka Alam procession on June 26, from 12 noon to 10 pm, across the Old City.
The procession will begin from Bibi Ka Alawa and pass through key stretches in the Old City. In view of the large gathering and movement of the procession, police will divert traffic at multiple junctions to avoid congestion and ensure smooth passage.
Traffic will not be allowed towards Bibi Ka Alawa from Sunargalli T Junction. Vehicles will instead be diverted towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Ganga Nagar Nala on the Yakutpura side. Similarly, traffic towards Shaik Faiz Kaman will be diverted at Jabbar Hotel towards Dabeerpura Darwaza or Chanchalguda depending on the situation.
Vehicles coming from Etebar Chowk will not be allowed towards Bada Bazar and will be diverted towards Kotla Alija or Purani Haveli. Once the procession reaches Ganga Nagar Nala, traffic from Purani Haveli towards Etebar Chowk will also be stopped and diverted through Chatta Bazar, Dabeerpura or SJ Rotary.
Key diversions for Bibi Ka Alam procession
Police said traffic from Moghalpura and Volta Hotel will be diverted at Bibi Bazar X Roads towards Paris Cafe or Talab Katta when the procession reaches Ganga Nagar Nala. When the procession reaches Etebar Chowk, traffic from Mitti ka Sher and Madina will be diverted at Gulzar House.
As the procession moves towards Kotla Alija and Charminar, diversions will be enforced at Hafez Danka Mosque, Mitti ka Sher Junction and Madina X Road. Traffic from Nayapool towards Charminar will be diverted towards City College.
When the procession reaches Miralam Mandi and Alawa Sartauq, traffic from Chaderghat Rotary, Salar Jung Museum, Shivaji Bridge and Noorkhan Bazar will also face diversions. Vehicles from Gowliguda and Afzalgunj will not be allowed towards Salar Jung or Shivaji Bridge and will be redirected accordingly.
The police also said APSRTC and TGSRTC district buses will be diverted towards Rang Mahal and Afzalgunj for entry and exit from 10 am to 9 pm on June 26. These buses will not be allowed on Kalikabar and Miralam Mandi Road until the procession reaches its destination.
Citizens have been advised to avoid the affected routes, use alternative roads and plan travel in advance. Hyderabad Traffic Police asked commuters to follow updates on its official social media handles and contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626 in case of emergencies.
