Eruvaka Punnami | Hyderabad, June 29: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan extended Eruvaka Punnami wishes to farmers on the occasion of Jyeshtha Shuddha Pournami.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of agriculture, nature, and farmer welfare while urging cultivators to embrace sustainable farming practices.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said Eruvaka Punnami reflects the deep bond between farmers, the land, and livestock. He wished for prosperous harvests and happiness in every farmer’s household.
He urged people to preserve traditions that honour nature. Moreover, he encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming methods to protect soil fertility and public health.
Eruvaka Punnami celebrates farming tradition
The Chief Minister said the NDA government remains committed to strengthening the agriculture sector. Therefore, it continues to support farmers through the Annadata Sukhibhava and PM Kisan financial assistance schemes.
He also expressed hope that farmers would overcome challenges arising from the El Nino weather pattern and global developments.
Furthermore, he advised them to follow government guidance for better crop management and higher productivity.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also conveyed Eruvaka Punnami wishes to farmers. He said the festival symbolises the enduring relationship between people and nature.
He noted that farmers traditionally begin the new cultivation season by offering prayers to Mother Earth. In addition, he wished for timely rainfall and abundant harvests across the state.
Pawan Kalyan reiterated that the coalition government remains committed to farmer welfare and agricultural development. He added that the government will continue to introduce measures that improve the livelihoods of the farming community.
Eruvaka Punnami, observed on Jyeshtha Shuddha Pournami, marks the beginning of the agricultural season. Farmers worship the land, cattle, and farming tools before commencing cultivation, reflecting a long-standing agricultural tradition in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
