Telangana New Telangana New CS Sanjay Jaju | Hyderabad, June 30 (Maxim News): Senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju, who has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Telangana, met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday ahead of formally assuming charge on July 1. The courtesy meeting took place a day before incumbent Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao retired from service.

The Telangana government appointed Sanjay Jaju as the new Chief Secretary through orders issued on June 26. A 1992-batch IAS officer, Jaju will replace Ramakrishna Rao, who completed his tenure on June 30. He is scheduled to remain in service until February 2029, making him one of the longest-serving Chief Secretaries in the state’s history.

Telangana New CS Sanjay Jaju to Hold Key Administrative Departments

Besides appointing him as Chief Secretary, the Telangana government has entrusted Sanjay Jaju with several additional responsibilities.

He will hold the Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the Industries and Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) departments. In addition, he will serve as the Special Principal Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Industry and Investment Cell under the Chief Minister’s Office.

Furthermore, the government has placed the prestigious Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery (SPEED) initiative under his supervision. Officials said the decision reflects the government’s confidence in Jaju’s extensive experience in industrial development, investment promotion, and information technology.

Experienced Administrator Returns to Telangana

Sanjay Jaju began his administrative career after joining the Indian Administrative Service in the 1992 batch. During his career in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, he served in several important positions, including Sub Collector of Vijayawada, District Collector of West Godavari, and Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, he served in various senior positions in the Central Government. Now, he returns to Telangana to head the state’s bureaucracy.

His long tenure is expected to provide administrative continuity and strengthen the implementation of key government initiatives. Moreover, officials believe his experience at both the state and central levels will help accelerate industrial growth, improve governance, and attract fresh investments to Telangana.
