Bhopal, July 8: The Madhya Pradesh government ordered a probe into alleged donation irregularities at the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, officials said.
The Agar Malwa Collector formed a three member committee after complaints. Complainants alleged a non government group collected donations separately from the official temple board. They said cash, gold, silver and jewellery reached private bank accounts.
The committee will inspect premises, review records and check bank accounts. It will verify cash and valuables and probe any parallel collection system. Officials named V.S. Chaubey to head the panel, with Manish Chaubey and Mini Agrawal as members.
The panel must file its report within seven days. The Leader of Opposition demanded a transparent inquiry and called for strict action if allegations prove true.
The state minister for Religious Trusts said suspects were outside the temple committee and promised action. The shrine draws thousands of devotees each year, making accurate accounts important for public trust.
