Peddi OTT release is now live on Netflix, bringing Ram Charan’s much-awaited film to streaming audiences.
Directed by Buchi Babu, the film is available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Fans are particularly excited because the OTT version includes additional scenes that were not part of the theatrical cut.
According to reports, Netflix added scenes that were cut from the film before its theatrical release due to runtime constraints. Additionally, scenes removed after the theatre run was underway have also been restored.
As a result, the OTT version of Peddi offers a more complete viewing experience than what audiences saw in cinemas.
Furthermore, the film is set in a village nestled at the foot of a hill in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The village is home to hundreds of residents.
However, it does not exist in government records. This lack of official recognition means the village and its people face constant discrimination and are treated as lesser citizens by outsiders.
Peddi OTT Version on Netflix Adds Deleted Scenes Fans Missed in Theatres
Ram Charan plays the title character, Peddi, a daily wage labourer who travels to Vizianagaram every day for work. Despite his humble background, Peddi is a naturally gifted cricket player. He can hit six sixes in six balls.
Moreover, the cricket teams of Vizianagaram and Bobbili compete with each other in auctions to buy him for their respective sides. People call him a “match labourer” in reference to his cricket skills.
However, the story takes a turn when Peddi leaves cricket behind and becomes a wrestler instead. The reason for this shift lies at the heart of the film’s narrative.
Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor plays the role of Achchiyamma. Her character’s connection to Peddi and the village forms a key thread running through the story.
Additionally, the central question the film explores is what Peddi does for his unrecognised village and its people. The story blends rural identity, sport, and social justice into a single narrative. Buchi Babu, who earlier directed the acclaimed Telugu film Uppena, brings a grounded sensibility to the storytelling in Peddi as well.
The Peddi OTT release on Netflix is now available to stream across India and internationally in all four languages. Fans who watched the film in theatres can revisit it on Netflix to catch the restored and extended scenes.
Those who missed the theatrical run can now experience the complete version for the first time on the platform.
