Shubman Gill | Hyderabad, July 29 (Maxim News): Indian cricketers made significant gains in the latest ICC rankings, with Team India captain Shubman Gill reclaiming the No.1 spot in the ODI batting rankings, while young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi registered a massive jump in the T20I rankings after an impressive series against Zimbabwe.
Gill overtook New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell to regain the top position in the ICC ODI batting rankings.
Mitchell had held the No.1 ranking since January this year. Gill’s consistent performances helped him return to the summit, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s leading ODI batters.
In the T20I rankings, rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi climbed an astonishing 230 places to reach 48th position.
The young batter scored 151 runs in the recently concluded three match T20I series against Zimbabwe, including two half centuries, earning his biggest leap in the ICC rankings.

India’s Ishan Kishan continued to dominate the T20I batting rankings, retaining the No.1 position with 910 rating points. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer, who leads India’s T20I side, moved up seven places to occupy 24th position following his recent performances.
In the T20I bowling rankings, spinner Ravi Bishnoi climbed 31 places to reach 41st position, reflecting his impressive showing in recent matches.
West Indies all rounder Justin Greaves also emerged as one of the biggest movers in the latest ICC rankings.
After scripting history by taking wickets in five consecutive maiden overs against Pakistan in the opening Test, Greaves jumped 21 places to 48th in the Test bowling rankings.
He also climbed to ninth place in the Test all rounders’ rankings following his maiden five wicket haul.
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas improved to 17th in the Test bowling rankings, while former captain Babar Azam moved up to 15th in the batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten half century.
The latest ICC rankings underline the strong performances of Indian players across formats, with Gill, Kishan, and emerging talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi continuing to strengthen India’s presence at the top of world cricket. (Maxim News)
