Hyderabad, July 30: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday said he would continue as the state’s Chief Minister till 2034, while asserting that his government is committed to building a world class education system and strengthening public education across Telangana.
Speaking at an interaction with teachers who visited Finland and Germany under the Teacher International Exposure Visit and Educational Exchange programme at the MCRHRD campus, Revanth Reddy said the State aims to provide education that can compete with global standards.
Government Advisor K. Kesava Rao and senior officials attended the programme.
The Chief Minister said India’s progress in education and public welfare was built on the foundations laid by former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and P. V. Narasimha Rao. He credited P. V. Narasimha Rao with strengthening the residential school system and said Telangana must now prepare students to compete with countries such as Germany, Japan, South Korea and China.
Revanth Reddy said quality education, nutritious food and discipline are essential for students to succeed. He added that the government is spending Rs. 1.08 lakh per student to improve educational outcomes.
He said the government had implemented teacher transfers and promotions without delay and assured teachers that their pending issues would be addressed. He also claimed that salaries have been paid on time during his government’s tenure.
The Chief Minister stated that school dropout rates have declined between 2023 and 2026, while admissions have increased due to reforms introduced in the education sector.
Reiterating his political confidence, Revanth Reddy said he would remain the Chief Minister till 2034 and continue working to strengthen Telangana’s education system.
