Hyderabad, Aug 5 (Maxim News): Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO) on Wednesday held the weekly review meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to assess the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral rolls.
The meeting focused on ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and participatory revision process ahead of the finalisation of the voter list.
The DEO reviewed the revised SIR schedule and assessed the progress of digitising Enumeration Forms submitted during the revision exercise. Officials also discussed the rationalisation of polling stations, appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs), and measures being taken to strengthen voter awareness across the district.
The DEO urged recognised political parties to extend full cooperation in the electoral roll revision process. They were requested to encourage eligible voters to submit their duly filled Enumeration Forms through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and ensure the active participation of BLAs during field verification.
Political parties were also asked to assist election officials in identifying ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate) electors to improve the accuracy of the electoral rolls and remove ineligible entries.
The meeting also reviewed the functioning of voter assistance help desks and the weekly coordination meetings being conducted among Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLOs, and BLAs.

Officials informed the meeting that a large-scale voter awareness campaign is underway through door-to-door outreach, print and electronic media, social media platforms, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and SMS campaigns to encourage maximum public participation in the revision process.
The DEO addressed the queries and suggestions raised by representatives of recognised political parties and reiterated that the electoral roll revision would be carried out in a fair, transparent, and inclusive manner.
The official stressed that continuous coordination among election authorities and political parties is essential to ensure that no eligible voter is left out and no ineligible entry remains in the electoral roll.(Maxim News)
