Hyderabad, Sept. 12: AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi questioned the reasons given by the Telangana government for dividing the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation into three corporations.
Speaking during the discussion on the GHMC division bill, Owaisi said he agreed that the city’s growing population required administrative changes.
However, he said the bill did not clearly explain the main reason for creating three corporations.
He also questioned how the government would manage staffing and resources in the new corporations.

Owaisi pointed to staff shortages in existing GHMC departments, including civil and sanitation wings.
He said employees were already being moved between departments due to shortages.
He also questioned whether existing employees were receiving adequate salaries.
Owaisi asked how the three new corporations would function without enough staff.
He said the government had not explained the required workforce for each corporation based on population and area.
He also sought details on staffing requirements for town planning and sanitation departments.
Owaisi questioned how many employees would be needed across the three corporations and how the government planned to recruit them.
He said these issues should be addressed while discussing the proposed GHMC division.
